Australian High Commission, London.
Entering Australia House with the walls lined with clothes and shoes – you could be forgiven for thinking you were at the launch of a new clothing line.
Supporting the fabulous charity, Dress For Success, our generous members donated rails of stylish dresses and shoes, all going to help unemployed women back into the workplace by giving them the essentials for that all important first interview.
Dress for Success London and their trained stylists will dress clients in a smart professional outfit and a senior recruitment adviser will also provide personal interview training to prepare for the interivew. Looking fantastic and with confidence restored, a Dress for Success client has a far better chance of success.
Dress for Success has dressed more than 1,000 women a year in high quality clothes donated by retailers and professionals. A visit to Dress for Success London can change the course of a woman’s life.
Just a little star struck, we had the honour of introducing Jo Elvin, Editor of Glamour Magazine, who had us all gripped with inspiring and funny tales from her journey in the fashion industry and how she not always looked this stylish! The evening was a huge success with £500 in raffle tickets raised and more than 24 boxes of clothes donated to the cause!!
“I was totally amazed at how great I looked. What a transformation. Gok Wan eat your heart out. It was an absolutely wonderful experience.”
“I came here still feeling low and not hopeful at all. However, after trying on my outfit the two fantastic ladies praised my new look which highly boosted by esteem and confidence. To make it even from better to best I had interview training with another lady who helped me to go through the most common interview questions.
Afterwards I felt that I had already got the job. Sure enough, within 24 hours I was contacted with the good news.”
